Abstract
The infections in the general surgical field are still common difficulties for the surgeons. Especially the bacteria which are stable to ¥â-lactamase endanger the patients most. Timentin is a new kind of antibiotics which combines ticarcillin and
clavulanic acid. Clavulanic acid is a potent ¥â-lactamase inhibitor which protects ticarcillin from the destructive effect of certain ¥â-lactamase mediated by Staphylococcus aureus and Gram-negative bacilli such as Klebsiella aerogenes, E coli
and
Bacteroides fragilis.
